Musimagem Festival reaches its ninth edition (for the first time in Niterói) in face-to-face and online formats with several international participations!! We celebrate once again the presence of distinguished international guests, such as composer Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek, Chronicles of Narnia, Antz) and Matthijs Kieboom (Wolf) in Niterói, as well as the online presences of Nicola Piovani (Life is Beautiful), Brad Fiedel (Terminator), Peter M. Bernstein (Caravan of Courage), Debbie Wiseman (Father Brown), Pinar Toprak (Captain Marvel, PAW Patrol) and the composers members of Musimagem Brasil, Plínio Profeta and the honoree of the year Egberto Gismonti with the Remo Usai award!!
The Festival has the partnership of the Dutch Consulate that will bring the composer Matthijs Kieboom to Brazil. It also has the partnership of the Brazilian Association of Music and Arts – ABRAMUS, the Association of Performers and Musicians – ASSIM, the Spanish website SoundtrackFest, producer Robert Townson, the record label MovieScore Media, designer Maurizio Manzo, in addition to the new partnership with the Arts Center of the Fluminense Federal University – CEART and the Institute of Arts and Social Communication Universidade Federal Fluminense – IACS, taking the festival to Niterói for the first time this year.

Remo Usai Award for Egberto Gismonti
In 2023, Musimagem Brazil chose composer Egberto Gismonti to receive the REMO USAI Award. Egberto has composed over 60 soundtracks, including those for “Estorvo” (2000), “Chico Xavier” (2010), and “Kuarup” (1989), among others.
With works performed in over 50 countries, Egberto Gismonti is one of the leading figures in Brazilian music. His extensive musical output includes soundtracks for theater, cinema, and ballet. He launched a record label named after his hometown, Carmo, where he acts as a producer and promoter.
A prominent and globally recognized composer, his music has reached more than 50 countries. Gismonti has created numerous film soundtracks and recorded 70 albums throughout his career. He was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro in 2017 and was granted the status of Commander through the Order of Cultural Merit in 2005.
